Late night art, Parnell Thursday, 13 August

Enjoying its inaugural launch last month, Late Night Art Parnell was a rollicking success with galleries open late for people to sip wine and take their time perusing Parnell's contemporary, traditional and cutting edge array of fine art - the perfect entrée to a memorable evening at one of Parnell's great restaurants.

Late Night Art will have you falling in love with Parnell all over again. It centres on the cluster of galleries located in the middle of Parnell Road : Aesthete Gallery, ARTIS Gallery, essenze, International Art Centre, Jonathan Grant Galleries , Pankhurst Studio Gallery, Parnell Gallery and Sanderson Contemporary Art - all open for viewing until 7.30pm. This month's line up features renowned New Zealand artist, Michael Smither speaking from ARTIS Gallery, from 6.30-7pm. For other details of artists at work, artist talks, and new exhibitions, visit www.parnell.net.nz for details (visit it anyway, it's a fabulous site!).

Performers too pepper the street - Grant Chilcott croons outside International Gallery; playing with fire (literally!) is performer, Charles Dolbel; and in the courtyard between Sanderson Contemporary Art and Aesthete galleries is a guest performance from Juice TV's, Daniel Wrightson playing with Jonny Love.

Add Late Night Art Parnell to your social calendar now – Thursdays: August 13, September 10, October 8, November 12 and December 10.

Performers

Dan Wrightson and Jonny Love play at Sanderson Contemporary Art. Jonny's debut album is in stores now. He's had 3 radio hits with 'Not The First Not the Last', 'My Sympathy' and 'Last day of June' and his fourth single 'Take Me Home' is out in a couple of weeks.

Dan is the new owner of Parnell's new pub The Windsor Castle which opens next week. In his spare time he dabbles in running Juice TV & 63 Music TV plus enjoys playing guitar with his mates in Auckland's (if not the World's) dodgiest band, The Corporate Voice Experience whenever possible.

They'll be playing acoustic versions of some of their songs plus murdering lots of other people's songs as you do.
