2018 Parnell Waiters' Race at La Cigale

Today, it is possible to find waiters races in more than 53 countries all over the world. From Hong Kong to Washington DC, from Brussels to Jerusalem or from Buenos Aires to Japan, and of course…PARNELL

The origin of the waiters race (the “course des garçons de café”), comes from France. In the beginning, waiters races were organised in order to improve the recognition of the waiter profession in Paris.

Keeping the event as original as is possible outside of France, we invite you to come and watch Auckland’s best waiters race it out to win, right next door to La Cigale (you can grab a pastry and a coffee from the market while you’re at it!)

Waiters from Oyster and Chop, Headquarters, Depot, Fed Deli, Woodpecker Hill, Chop Chop, Blue Breeze, 46&York to name drop a few will be racing to win and in turn, put their restaurant on the ‘best waiters in Auckland’ list.

The waiters aren’t racing for nothing with thanks to our incredible sponsors Renault NZ, House of Travel Parnell and Southern Hospitality.

The grand prize for our winning waiter is return flights and accommodation for 5 nights to London, with automatic entry into the National Waiters Race held in Hyde Park. What’s the prize for the winning waiters restaurant? A Renault New Zealand CAR for a YEAR!

Don’t miss this opportunity to come and support your favourite waiters and enjoy the delicious ‘French flavour’ of this event with your family and friends.

Sunday November 18th 11am – 2pm 78 St Georges Bay Rd, Parnell – in the car park next door to La Cigale
