The 2018 Parnell Waiters’ Race went off without a hitch on Sunday and had Auckland’s best waiters battling it out till the very end in what can only be described as a nail biting and surprising Grand Final!
With more Auckland-wide restaurants entered in the Parnell Waiters’ Race than ever before, the Waiters’ Race this year was set to be competitive from the get-go and the supportive spectators were not disappointed.
With waiters from Woodpecker Hill, Oyster & Chop, Antoine’s and Blue Breeze in the final race, it was anyones guess who would win the trip to London, and the Renault Captur for their Restaurant.
The last race of the day had us all on the edge of our seats due to a false start from 3 of the 4 waiters in the race. After a review of video footage, and serious deliberation between the Judges, the winner on the day was Nick, from Parnell’s own Antoine’s Restaurant!
Thank you to the support received from the Auckland hospitality industry. You helped make the event what it was and your waiters did you proud.
And of course, thank you to our incredible sponsors, Renault, House of Travel Parnell, Southern Hospitality and NZ’s Best Dining.
