Anna Souness is the co-Director of Parnell Gallery alongside her mother, Sally. Having spent most of her life either living or working in Parnell, she knows the area intimately. Check out her favourite places in Parnell to explore and enjoy, curated for Discover Auckland.
The Crown Range Lounge is a relatively new addition to Parnell, with live jazz music and a brilliant atmosphere a great way to finish an evening. Nestled down one of Parnell’s laneways, it’s a hidden gem!
For long lunches or dinners, it’s hard to beat the courtyard at Non Solo Pizza. The staff is fantastic, and there is a wonderful atmosphere that is hard to beat. With a glass of wine in hand, throw in the ivy-covered walls, water fountains, and wood-fired pizza, and it’s a perfect escape.
We often visit the Parnell Rose Gardens with our young children; they love the impressive Pōhutukawas which are perfect climbing trees, and a meander through the roses. We pick up a coffee from Rosie across the road and make our way down to Judges Bay and back up through the beautifully situated St Stephen’s Chapel grounds.
Pānera Parnell

I love Parnell for its refreshing departure from the large chain stores, proudly embracing a distinct charm centred around its boutique retailers. I love nothing more than a leisurely stroll down Parnell Road, visiting the many galleries and boutiques.
