ANZ Parnell hosted October’s network meeting by providing us with some ‘Food for Thought’ around the affects of interest rates, recent Reserve Bank changes and why banks are not necessarily passing on the rates cuts to customers. Guest speaker, Senior ANZ Economist, Phil Borkin discussed why banks will not pass on the predicted OCR 0.5% decrease to their customers but more likely focus on encouraging people to save more, through a shift in saving rates. He also highlighted changes in the current the housing market and held ran a Q & A session.
Thanks to the generosity of the friendly ANZ staff, Geri Prouse, manager at the ANZ Parnell, did the draw for one lucky member who went home with a fabulous ‘foodie’ hamper.
