Ian Peter Weston’s current practice builds upon a broader interest in painting in which materiality and thickness have become privileged components. In particular, the place of the support is elevated from that of being simply a given- as something flat and stable upon which to deposit paint. Rather, for Weston the support, which has themed the ‘substrate’, occupies a position open to continual re-invention, particularly in response to the remembered events of a past life.

How To Harness Auction Fever by Teresa HR Lane
202 Parnell Road
Date 8-16 Oct:

B(v) = (n – 1/1)v How To Harness Auction Fever by Teresa HR Lane

The visual story Teresa HR Lane presents is a real time reference to her living experiences. She is an active participant, but also plays the role of the observer, documenting the human form, celebrating the ordinary, and recognising the humorous and often perverse ways we interact with others. B(v) = (n-1/1)v The Theorem of How We Harness Auction Fever delves into the swirling emotions of the art auction floor – a passionate marketplace that often leads to buyer’s elation and the lament of those that missed out. Lane’s work examines the inflammatory nature of desire and captures the scent of competitive arousal.

Thanks to our sponsors!

The Parnell Waiters’ Race would not be possible without the sponsorship of Renault, Res Diary, Southern Hospitality and Media Partner NZ Best Dining
