From 8-16 October Parnell is combining its love affair with the culinary and the artistic to bring to you something a little bit ‘Parnell’ different with the Art of Food.
Hospitality and art galleries in Parnell will showcase their best; from fine dining to the delectable diversity of ethnic menus, wine tastings to cooking classes to inspiring visual displays in art galleries, ending in a grand finale with the return of the Parnell Waiters’ Race.
Put your best ‘food’ forward during Parnell Artweek. With the most galleries on one street in Auckland, Parnell Artweek offers a variety of free art exhibitions and art-related events to feed the soul and nourish the mind. Many of the galleries will showcase a diverse range of ‘food’ related artworks and talks.
The grand finale will take place on Sunday 16 October, with the Parnell Waiters’ Race. Parnell’s hospitality sector challenge all Auckland restaurants to enter their best wait staff in a well-respected event that acknowledges the profession of waiters, with an incredible first prize up for grabs, the use of a Renault car for 12 months! This promises to be a fun spectator event. On your marks, ready, set, Wait – it’s the Parnell Waiters’ Race!
