Auckland Heritage Festival 2020

  • Published September 14, 2020
  • in General News

Uncover some of the secrets and stories of Tāmaki Makaurau with more than 150 FREE or LOW COST events across Auckland, several of which are located in Auckland’s oldest suburb Parnell.

Learn about generations of famous and infamous Aucklanders, discover the stories of our oldest places and spaces, touch on our best-kept secrets and celebrate our heritage.

Auckland Heritage Festival in 2020 has events to suit all tastes and ages. Explore the sacred spaces of The Holy Trinity Cathedral, or the notable and notorious persons of John Kinder House, there are even two guided walks around Dove-Myer Robinson Park (one by historian John Adam , and the other by Auckland Council Parks).  For our younger historians, Auckland Museum has the Tāmaki truth trail, where they will need to follow clues to discover which stories are facts and which are fake.  If you would rather do your heritage learning from home this year, Auckland Libraries has a number of online videos available for viewing free of charge.

Running from 26 September to 11 October 2020
