TREASURES AND TALES ONLINE: VOLCANOES
Tāmaki Makaurau was built on a field of around 53 volcanoes. But that doesn’t mean you’re likely to find magma in your garden anytime soon – with the exception of Rangitoto, Auckland’s volcanoes are currently dormant. However, an eruption will happen one day.
You can learn all about volcanoes here, from the learning team, then take the museum’s volcano quiz and test your knowledge of our city’s fiery past.
There is a playlist full of other videos on offer to watch on the Museum’s things to watch page, so be sure to check them out too.
The learning team will be back live every Thursday at 4pm, with another session, so be sure to like them on Facebook to make sure you don’t miss out.
