Think you’ve seen all that Auckland War Memorial Museum Tāmaki Paenga Hira has to offer? Until March 31 2023, visitors can climb onto the roof of the grand heritage building for an entirely different perspective.
The Museum’s Incredible Rooftop Tour runs daily at 10.15am and during select Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm, offering not only a unique vantage point over the city’s skyline, harbour and inner suburbs, but insight into the historic neoclassical building itself and surrounding Domain.
Each one-hour tour is limited to 10 people and requires a moderate level of fitness to navigate stairs. It costs $30 per person.

Auckland’s popular La Cigale French shop, café and weekend markets wrapped up last year, after 24 years of “bringing France to Parnell”.
New delicatessen chain Buono has revived the beloved community gathering at the end of St George’s Bay Road, this time bringing a slice of Italy to the inner suburb.
Every Saturday from 8am until 1.30pm visitors to the Buono Gastro Market will find European delights and food products inside the retail deli store, while the open-air market is the spot to pick up produce, pastries and boutique products direct from local stallholders.
Grab a reusable tote bag and bring an empty stomach—you can expect mouthwatering goods from vendors including Dough Boys, Havana Coffee, Lalele Organic Gelato, Philippe’s Patisserie, Pizza a Casa, Roti Bros, Sabores – Spanish & Latin Cuisine.
