The Year of Tourism is an opportunity for New Zealand to showcase what it is that makes us a world class destination: our stunning natural landscapes, our range of unique experiences and products, and manaakitanga. And of course, great communities around New Zealand, like Parnell.
Auckland will play a big role in the Year of Tourism, starting with the Auckland Lantern Festival and Sky City’s Chinese New Year Festivities.
In terms of the impact the Year of Tourism will have on Parnell, we could not be more excited.
Not only does this invite international interest to Auckland’s oldest suburb and our unique tourist offering of retail, hospitality and all round ‘one off’ offering, but because we are kicking off 2019 with our Chinese New Year, Year of the Pig Exhibition and Auction for charity, Parnell is the space to be in Auckland for the 2019 China-New Zealand Year of Tourism.
Tourism is a driver of not only of economic growth, but also of cultural understanding. The China-New Zealand Year of Tourism is an opportunity focus on the welcome we are providing to our Chinese visitors and foster stronger relationships between our two countries.
