Our boutique library is housed in Parnell’s historic Jubilee Building, the former home of the Blind Foundation. As part of the Foundation Precinct we share our home with the local community centre, and the popular Parnell Farmers’ Market on Saturday mornings. Our small, creative team takes pride in building a rapport with our regular patrons and welcoming new customers with a warm smile. Excellent service and going above and beyond is what we’re here for.
Our regular preschool programmes are:
Wriggle & Rhyme: Tuesdays, 10-10:30am. Active movement and music for 0-2s
Rhymetime: Wednesdays, 11-11.30am. Music, stories, and finger rhymes for 18-months to 3 years.
Storytime: Mondays, 11-11.30am. Stories and songs for 3-5s.
And for adults we have:
Book Group: First Thursday of the month, 10-11am. Get recommendations for what to read next, enjoy a cup of tea and lively conversation.
Tea with Tales: Last Thursday of the month, 10-11am. Our book group for those who like listening to their books. Join members of the Blind Foundation and keen audio-book listeners for recommendations on what to listen to next, a cup of tea, and lively conversation.
Book a Librarian: Need some help with your new tablet or e-reader? Want to find out more about Auckland Libraries e-books, e-magazines, and e-audiobooks? Get in touch with us and we’ll book you in for a one-on-one session with one of our friendly team to show you the ropes.
