New Works
11 – 25 June
Through his luminous still lifes and intimate interiors, Neil Driver evokes a profound sense of stillness, attentiveness, and presence. This latest body of work expands Driver’s exploration of domestic space through richly observed arrangements in which familiar objects become sites of contemplation and painterly sensitivity.
The exhibition brings together paintings that balance intimacy with openness, drawing the viewer into carefully composed interiors animated by reflection, colour, and atmosphere. Driver sensitively guides the observer toward details that might otherwise be overlooked, such as the beauty found in the texture of a wooden crate, the reflective surface of enamelware, or the subtle play of light across glass, pewter, and white tablecloths. Fruit, flowers, and domestic objects are rendered with remarkable tactility and presence, while windows, reflections, and shifting shadows draw the surrounding landscape into the compositions themselves.
