Introducing the Faraday Street Festival, a part of the Summernova line up – Auckland’s newest summer festival series that’s set to bring the entire Auckland region to life and make for a summer you won’t soon forget!

On Friday February 26th while Auckland is buzzing with the America’s Cup activity, Faraday Street in Parnell welcomes you to enjoy the very first ‘Faraday Festival’.

With some of Auckland’s favourite retail and hospitality hot spots open till late, along with your favourite ‘festy food trucks’ parked up in Faraday, a pop-up street bar hosted by The Paddington Parnell, and entertainment to create that perfect ‘Friday night vibe’, you’d be crazy to spend the evening anywhere else.

Being a ‘City Fringe’ suburb, so close to all the central city action, yet removed enough to offer a different experience entirely is exactly why Parnell has the opportunity to show off Auckland during the 36th Americas Cup! An Uber, or Bus Ride from the hub, it’s an easy way to be gifted an entirely unique experience of Auckland City on a Friday evening.

Tell your friends, family and workmates to meet you in Faraday St and get your weekend started right with the Faraday St Festival. Retail open late, food trucks parked up, and your favourite Faraday hospitality offerings that are looking forward to serving you (it’s going to be a busy night so you may want to book!)

If you’re visiting Auckland for the 36th Americas Cup presented by PRADA, make sure you visit Faraday Street for this ‘first time festy’ to celebrate. We’re only an Uber, a taxi, or a bus ride from the Hub and it’s a perfect way to enjoy your Friday night!

Faraday Street Parnell is ever evolving and known as ‘the warehouse district’ of the Auckland City fringe. Not only does it have an eclectic mix of popular hospitality offerings, but also some of Auckland’s edgiest fashion. Open till late for the Faraday Festival, make sure you pop into Bara to experience some of the most ‘forward fashion’ Auckland has to offer.

Parnell has long been a main tourist destination for Auckland. You are so close to the City yet feel far removed from the hustle and bustle. Parnell wishes to remind those in Auckland over summer what the suburb offers. Historical heritage walks, Parnell Village, award winning hospitality options, beautiful parks and recreation spaces, all so close to the waterfront. Bearing in mind that The Strand, the main road into Parnell, marks the original beachline of Auckland and is now one of the busiest road routes in the city!

To remind those in Auckland at the time of the Americas Cup of the rich history of Parnell, is to remind all that although time moves things forward in leaps and bounds, the history and heart of a suburb still remains.
