With the pedestrian crossings complete, we are keen to hear your views on both the impact to your trade as well as your opinion of the crossings.
As you were aware, the pedestrian crossings in Parnell Road have been a safety hazard and the site of several accidents. The Business Association were supportive of the proposal to improve the safety at the crossings, as well as the choice of the holiday period. However, we really took issue with Auckland Transport with regard to their lack of communications and minimal warning, which was disrespectful to the retail and hospitality businesses and their respective patrons in Parnell Road. In addition, the proposal to shut off the entire street during works, was presented to us as a fait accompli and never consulted upon.
The survey below will just take a few minutes to complete.
What will we do with the information?
Individual information will remain confidential unless you indicate you would like us to share it.
Our objective is to present the information to Auckland Transport and be able to compare with the quarterly statics we get from Marketview.
Comparing the year on year impact?
The recent Easter Holiday period is quite difficult to compare to 2018, as Easter was separate to school holidays in 2018. In 2019 Easter /Anzac Day and School holidays were concentrated into a 2 week period, presenting potential holiday makers with 2 short weeks and an ideal time to take leave. In addition the Cruise season also comes to a close around this time.
