All about AED’s
AED stands for Automated External Defibrillator, but it’s also commonly referred to as a defib. An AED is a portable medical device that can automatically assess a patient’s heart rhythm. It judges whether defibrillation is needed and, if required, administers an electric shock through the chest wall to the heart.
Knowing where to find an AED in an emergency is important. By downloading the AED Locations App on your Android or iPhone you could save someones life. As an AED can increase someone’s chance of survival by up to 80% if applied immediately.
