Christmas is associated with joy and celebration, but it can also be an incredibly challenging time for some people. There are many ways you can help support other people this holiday season.
Auckland City Mission Angels
Put an extra present under the tree this Christmas! This festive season, The Village Square is collecting donations of food and gifts for the Auckland City Mission’s “Auckland Angels” campaign. With your support, we can bring the joy of Christmas to some of our most vulnerable Aucklanders.
Donate gifts at the Parnell Farmers’ Market, the reception area of Parnell Community Centre, or inside Parnell Library before 9 December. You can find out more about suitable gifts at the Facebook post below.
Kiwi Christmas Books
Kiwi Christmas books are back! Lamplight Books have got their blue box set up in the kids’ section of their store. Come on in and buy a children’s book, and Sonja and her team will deliver them to the City Mission, The Aunties, Women’s Refuge and many more great charities. If you can’t make it into Parnell, just give them a ring and they can sort it for you.
