On a stunning autumn day in March, Parnell’s 269 was home to Mediterranean Vibes: A vibrant fundraising event for Mercy Hospice.
Guests enjoyed delicious tapas-style platters in the sun-drenched courtyard, were entertained by beautiful singing by Michelle Kohnen and soulful flamenco performances by Bolero Flamenco—all in the name of raising critical funds for hospice services.
269 was an incredible venue for Mediterranean Vibes. The space, the brainchild of Kevin Harvey as his gift to Parnell, brings together good food, vibes, music, and transported guests to Europe, the Mediterranean, and Latin America.
About a dozen Parnell businesses showed significant support for the event, donating artwork, antique or bespoke pieces of jewellery, dining vouchers for some of the neighbourhood’s beloved restaurants, and experiences, as part of a live auction on the day.
Those who supported the live auction include: Anne Batley Burton, Black Door Gallery, Cornelia, Gerome, Graeme Thomson Antique Jewellery, Java Room, Kiwa Art, Lenski, Michele Whitecliffe, Non Solo Pizza, Orsini Fine Jewellery, Parnell Gallery, Raymond Henderson, Solitaire De Parnell, Svelte Body, The Beauty Loft, The Fantail House and WAR Pacific Island Fusion.
In total, Mediterranean Vibes raised more than $20,000 for Mercy Hospice, which will make a meaningful difference in providing compassionate, quality care, free of charge, to hundreds of central Aucklanders with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
This event couldn’t have done it without the support of the Parnell community. If you attended, bid in the live auction, or generously donated goods—thank you.
