For multimedia artist Vjekoslav Nemesh, art is all about creating a sense of connection between people and their surroundings. This Christmas, five of his artworks are decorating our Beacons of Light, helping our community connect with the newly renovated Heard Park.
Connection is also a key theme in his chosen pieces. “Much of my work explores the unseen connections between people, nature, and the universe,” Nemesh explains. “Light has always been a central element in expressing those relationships.”
Nemesh’s art practice is a meditative one, allowing the colours and textures of a piece to guide him towards the final artwork. He rarely starts with a fixed plan, and the end result is always ethereal and captivating.
For Nemesh, seeing his artwork enlarged and illuminated in Heard Park is an honour. “I hope when people pass by these Beacons, they feel a spark of joy, peace, or inspiration.”
‘Beacons of Light’ will be on display in Heard Park, Parnell from 24 November—6 January, and are free to visit for the duration of this period.
