Bidding was brisk on the 12th March at the Monkey Auction in aid of Starship, with some of the monkeys being highly contested. A thank you to the artists who kindly donated their fee to the charity.
The amount raised at the auction was $35,550, with $16,000 going to the Starship National Air Ambulance Service.
“Thank you so much to everyone who took part in Parnell Inc’s monkey business! The wonderful team at Parnell Inc, the 28 artists and creatives, and of course everyone who bought their very own monkey. Starship’s National Air Ambulance Service relies on the support of people like you, who generously donate to keep the Air Ambulance available for children from all over NZ 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.”
Krissy Garnham, Community Fundraising Executive, Starship Foundation.
Congratulations to artist Sally Lush, whose monkey, Hydrangea, fetched the highest bid at the Year of the Monkey Auction last Saturday evening at Webb’s, going for $4,000! Parnell Inc. was delighted with the turnout at the auction. Thanks to Webb’s for their generous involvement.
