From standout newcomers to enduring favourites, Jesse Mulligan recently shared the six Auckland restaurants that have delivered him the most memorable meals so far this year. Listed among these restaurants is Parnell favourite Oh Calcutta!
In his rankings, Jesse says “You will feel at home as soon as you open the door here, and unlike other restaurants whose crowds might fade a little once the hot new place opens down the street, Oh Calcutta has achieved something almost no other Auckland restaurant has managed: over three decades of full, happy dining rooms, with no sign of slowing down any time soon.”
Jesse reviewed Oh Calcutta for Viva back in July, ranking the restaurant a commendable 17/20.
“It is simply a restaurant with very high standards, where you feel good as soon as you walk in; where curry-obsessives and butter-chicken eaters can break bread together in a room that will make both feel happy and comfortable.”
