Parnell local and private chef Hercules Noble shared his guide to Parnell for Discover Auckland.
I absolutely love food. All food. Sweet, spicy, and everything in between. As a private chef, I’m constantly looking for inspiration, and luckily, I don’t have to travel far, as Parnell has some fantastic restaurants, both old and new. Having lived in Parnell for most of my life, I’ve seen it grow from strength to strength. I’m certainly proud to call it home.
Love Indian food? This place is the tits! Absolutely delicious food, whether you’re dining in or taking it away! While they take a modern twist on the classic flavours of India, these guys also apply sustainable practises in the kitchen. Which I always appreciate.
I absolutely ace Spanish tapas! Whenever I see a small menu, I see a green flag. These guys are doing it right! Perfect for dinner or just pre-dinner drinks.
Love chocolate, fudge, and all things candy? The chocolate boutique is your place. With a cabinet stocked to the brim with all sorts of truffles. Enough pots of fudge to make you never want to eat the stuff again.
This cosy Italian wine bar and eatery opened up within the last year or two, and it’s instantly become a family favourite. Proper comforting Italian food with lovely hospitality. A must-try for me!
Quality sushi, two-thirds of the way up Parnell Road. Always a lovely option for an easy option on the go.
