A picture says a 1000 words

Be the first to see this brand new photographic exhibition at the Auckland Museum featuring stunning images from the New Zealand Geographic Photographer of the Year 2017 Competition.

The exhibition showcases the work of some of New Zealand’s top photographers across a range of categories including landscape, society & culture, aerial, photo story and wildlife. 65 images will be displayed on backlit panels to reveal every stunning detail – a first for this homegrown exhibition.

Take a fresh look at New Zealand through the lens of award-winning photographers: from an aerial shot of a secluded swimming spot, to a kapa haka group on a bus trip, to an alien-like marine creature floating in inky black waters.

The winners of the competition were announced on December 13, including the overall Nikon Photographer of the Year. Cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award after viewing these incredible images at the exhibition or online , and the winner will be announced in February.
