Red Wall 1939 is Auckland’s newest Chinese fine dining experience. The menu is based on a traditional state dining banquet – experienced usually by ancient Chinese royalty and dignitaries – with a modern twist using superior New Zealand produce.
Red Wall 1939 chose the element of FIRE to focus on for their Elemental Feast offering is because when they cook this particular dish, they add two types of Sichuan pepper into the marinated and braised Ox Tail – making the flavour mild spicy but not burning hot! Another ‘addition’ you may taste in the flavour mix is Rum. The Flambe is done for a dramatic effect and to develop the rich flavour of the liquor to the foods without adding the alcohol.

Heard Park is the location for a set of immersive, sculptural and light installations by ‘HYBYCOZO’, Stunning, enigmatic and immersive sculptures that are internally lit and create a surreal ambience, day and night, throughout the month of July.
Each Friday evening in July (5th, 12th, 19th and 26th, from 6pm-6.45pm, four otherworldly travellers will activate Heard Park and amplify the play of geometry, light and shadow created by the HYBYCOZO installation in a series of dance rituals dedicated to the four classical elements; Earth, Air, Fire and Water. The performers appear as mystical intergalactic vikings with large costume and prop pieces that draw inspiration from mystic symbolism, the vikings and the cosmos.
