Enjoy live music from some of Auckland’s finest up-and-coming talent! Youth Arts NZ have curated a lineup of musicians who will be stationed around Parnell Village, playing ambient tunes to see you through the night.

Auckland-based singer-songwriter Jenni Smith lives and breathes music. Since joining New Zealand’s vibrant Country Music scene at the age of 12, she has experienced much success in the industry—she is particularly proud of attaining Songwriter of the Year at the NZCMA Entertainer of the Year Awards in 2018, and her recent single ‘T-Shirt’ charted on the Official NZ Music Charts . There’s something for everyone in Jenni’s country-influenced writing; whether you want a hoedown, to cry for hours, get sassy, or confess love, you can bet she’s got a song for that.
Myshelle is a Taiwanese/English multi-instrumentalist who draws inspiration from experiences close to her heart and uses music to capture these moments in time. Myshelle hopes that through sharing her music, anyone going through a similar situation won’t feel as alone as she showcases how even life’s most chaotic moments can be used to create something beautiful.
Jimmy Earle is an Auckland based busker who specializes in singing and guitar. He combines pop tunes with an acoustic style to create a vibrant and uplifting mood.
One of music’s most poetic and genuine figures, New Zealand rapper, audio producer, and songwriter Kwyze has music that grounds people in the present. What makes him so impressive is his ability to connect with his audience through relatable concepts. He has performed at AUM Festival and numerous showcases/gigs. Multi-talented, with genuine intentions you’ll have an experience like no other.
New Zealand born singer Henry Crawford has been playing guitar since the age of 14 and has since travelled America and Canada busking throughout the states. His goals are to play events and release as much music as he can.
Niklas is a 21 year old singer and guitarist who studies at the University of Auckland. He is extremely passionate about songwriting and loves sharing his music. He has released numerous songs on Spotify that you can find by searching ‘Niklas Meads’.
Brittany Goh is an 18 year old singer with dreams of being on Broadway. Though inaccessibility limits her, she’s determined to continue performing and share the joy musicals bring her from her wheelchair.
Parnell Gallery, 263 Parnell Road
Experience the artistry of Janette Cervin and her partner in life and art, Jake Kennedy, at Parnell Gallery from 5:30pm. Janette will be painting in the gallery’s front window, offering visitors a rare chance to see her intricate process unfold. Alongside her, Jake will be showcasing works at different stages, demonstrating how each layer contributes to their signature depth and vibrancy.
Janette and Jake’s creative process is truly unique. Each painting begins with an expressive composition before being partially obscured with black spray paint. Through careful sanding, Jake reveals the hidden details, uncovering floral forms, birds, and glimpses of colour beneath the surface. Janette then applies inks to enrich the composition, before multiple layers of resin are poured and torched to achieve a flawless, glass-like finish. The result is an artwork that appears almost three-dimensional, with botanical forms seemingly suspended within.
With Janette’s latest exhibition, a joint show with Dalene Meiring, ‘In Bloom & Being’, on view in the exhibition space upstairs, this is the perfect opportunity to witness the artistry behind their distinctive works and hear directly from the artists about their collaborative approach.

Outside Black Door Gallery, 251 Parnell Road
Black Door Gallery will present a new text-based work by Elliot Collins, featuring suspended discs adorned with poetic words. These discs, swaying gently in the breeze, invite viewers to engage in free association and connection. Positioned amidst the charming laneways around the gallery, the installation captures passing thoughts, murmurs, and ruminations, creating an ephemeral dialogue between the environment and the viewer.
Black Door Gallery window, 251 Parnell Road
Black Door Gallery invites you to experience the radiant work of Taranaki artist Ché Rogers. In their window, his dynamic lightboxes will captivate with their ever-changing glow and intricate concentric designs, evoking ripples on water, sunlight, and the rhythm of life itself. Influenced by mid-century minimalism and bold geometric art movements, Ché’s work offers a harmonious blend of energy and stillness, creating a visual experience that is both calming and thought-provoking.

Touching on topics of sustainability, and how we rely on and are intricately connected to the plant world around us, textile artist Frankie Meaden is known for using recycled materials in her work.
Frankie’s art is almost always botanical, with her large-scale sculptural pieces challenging the scale at which embroidery is usually seen. Telling the story of the rich biodiversity of our world using colourful rope and recycled street banners in a way that is both impactful and beautiful.
You’ll see two of Frankie’s gorgeous works in Parnell—one will be strung up in an alleyway at 245 Parnell Road (near Verdo), and the other will hand from one the iconic Parnell lamp post beside Natalie Rose Bridal.
Frankie will be in store at Orsini during the event—pop in to say hi!
