ROAD WORK DISRUPTION, PARNELL JAN-OCT 2025
Below is a summary of the work taking place on The Strand by ASM as well as activity on Cleveland Road by Watercare.

The Strand Optimisation works Stage 2, Shared User Path - mid June-Oct
NZTA have advised that work will begin on Monday 16 June on section 3 between 60 The Strand and Sudbury Terrace, and section 1, starting at Beach Road (see table below) will now start on 30 June. (This is a change since the initial advice).
During the initial site setup this week they will be installing safety fencing and a portacom. This will be followed by site establishment works, including surveying and setting out the new footpath alignment.
They will also be carrying out service investigations in the section. Once this is complete, they will begin excavation and preparation for the new footpath, along with installing ducting for the new street lighting. Work will take place between 7am and 5pm and all traffic lanes will remain open throughout the week.
