As part of Auckland Museum’s Egypt: In the Time of Pharaohs exhibition programme, Kemetic yoga offers a unique African approach to physical, mental, and spiritual development. Its postures draw inspiration from ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs.
Experience the slower pace of Kemetic yoga, focusing on geometric progression and deep rhythmic breathing. Each session incorporates breathwork, movements, and postures rooted in Kemetian philosophies and stories.
These special sessions will be facilitated by African Kemetic yoga teacher, Makanaka Tuwe. Maka is a researcher, storyteller and cultural producer whose practice flows at the intersections of embodied care, collective wellness and social justice.
After your refreshing session, enjoy the breathtaking 360-degree views from our stunning venue followed by an exclusive visit to Egypt: In the Time of Pharaohs.
