Businesses across New Zealand are being called upon to enhance their cultural competence.
On the 7th of March several Parnell businesses along with the Parnell Business Association attended a one day seminar hosted by Nathan Mahikai Riki of Riki Consultancy on how to strengthen their cultural competency within their businesses.
The full day training gave attendees assess to the cultural capabilities of each organisation, as well as how to identify strengths and opportunities for development.
How to define the ‘why’ for our organisations in relation to the importance of developing cultural competencies, upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how it enhances the work we do was also covered.
As well as developing ‘best practice’ cultural guidelines and indicators that leads to successful practice for our staff.
All attendees found the training to be very thought provoking and informative.
