TSB Bank Art In A Day – Winner Announced

  • Published March 5, 2015
  • in General News

Congratulations Amanda Brett, on winning first prize in the TSB Bank Art In A Day competition held on 21st February. Prizegiving took place last weekend.

Amanda’s watercolour of Parnell’s iconic Parnell Village was the winner on the day (pictured below) and she was awarded $2,000, loaded into a TSB bank account. Amanda Brett said the prizes donated by the TSB Bank were very generous in a competition that encouraged and allowed participation of artists of all levels.

The Second Prize of a TSB account with $1,000, was awarded to David Gibbons for his watercolour of St Stephens chapel at Judges Bay. David’s work was also voted the most popular artwork by visitors to the exhibition, winning him the People’s Choice Award – a one year membership at the Olympic Pools and Fitness Centre, valued at $650.

The Third Prize of a TSB account with $500 went to Bhagya Rupisinghe for his vibrant acrylic painting that incorporated elements of all three suburbs.

The Secondary Schools’ Prize of $500 worth of art supplies from Gordon Harris was one by Jacqueline Cox, a student of Glendowie College.

The organisers of TSB Bank Art in a Day wish to thank the sponsors and Waitemata Local Board for their generous support. Thanks also go to the judges and many volunteers who contributed their time to make this first event a great success, and lastly to all the artists who participated.
