Visitors to Auckland War Memorial Museum Tāmaki Paenga Hira now have the choice of sit-down bistro dining with the opening of Tuitui Museum Bistro & Café in the new Te Ao Mārama South Atrium.
The renovated southern entrance marks the most significant change to the building in over a decade.
Tuitui is found on the fringe of the atrium and offers views across Auckland Domain. The name means ‘to stitch together’ te reo Māori, but it can also refer to the meeting of friends and whanau over good kai and kōrero.
Featuring recently in both Concrete Playground & Denizen Tuitui showcases a menu of familiar classics done well, like fish and chips, mussels and roast lamb, as well as a ‘Kiwi High Tea’ that includes a nostalgic, playful mix of morsels like snapper pâté and cheese rolls; lamingtons and lolly cake. Native New Zealand ingredients are woven throughout the menu.
Little ones are also well catered for with the dedicated children’s menu, and a selection of pizzas is sure to go down a treat with the whole family.
Tuitui is open daily from 9am – 5pm. Be sure to check out their Twilight Tuesdays, where Tuitui is open until 8:30pm.
