The Chinese Moon Festival this year falls on Monday September 24th, the time of year where the moon is at it’s brightest!
The Mid-Autumn Festival is an inherited custom of moon sacrificial ceremonies. The ancient Chinese observed that the movement of the moon had a close relationship with changes of the seasons and agricultural production. So, to express their thanks to the moon and celebrate the harvest, they offered a sacrifice to the moon on autumn days.
As a gift and sharing of tradition and culture, the newest fine dining, premium Chinese Cuisine restaurant in Parnell, Red Wall 1939, has provided 5 beautiful Moon Cake presentation boxes for the Parnell Business Association to pass on in celebration of the Moon Festival.
The moon cakes you can win here are no ordinary moon cakes. These moon cakes are incredibly exclusive and available only from the Forbidden City in China. The Forbidden City is where Chinese Royalty live, making these particular moon cakes ‘approved by royalty’.
