An artist with over 20 years painting murals Jeremy Shirley has transformed the streets of Hamilton with his colourful and unique style of art.
Jeremy has used his artistic talents in a number of roles, as a sign-writer, working for the Department of Corrections as an art tutor for prison inmates and is currently the team leader for the exhibition team at Waikato Museum. His large-scale murals can be seen around various towns and suburbs in the Waikato region from Huntly through to Te Awamutu and Taupo and now…Parnell, Auckland.
An on-going project from Jeremy is painting the bus shelters of Hamilton the results of which reduce the occurrence of anti-social tagging while bringing a smile to the faces of passers-by.

YEAR OF THE RAT - HOW TO GET YOURS
During the Chinese New Year period, starting on Monday January 27th, the Parnell Business Association will let you know where ‘Street Rat graffiti art’ is popping up around some of Parnell’s most loved spots. We encourage you to follow the daily clues provided on social media, find the street rats, and post your ‘rat finds’ to be in to win a prize per artwork.
All Street Art is available to purchase here. There are only 21 editions available of each work of ‘ratty street art’ so if you wait too long for your favourite street art print by your favourite artist, it’s likely you’ll miss out.
